DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain database of current and potential railcar storage customers.
  • Researching and qualifying new leads.
  • Making outbound calls to potential customers and following up on leads.
  • Understanding customers’ railcar storage requirements and identifying opportunities.
  • Answering potential customers’ questions and sending additional information per email.
  • Upselling services.
  • Closing sales and achieving sales targets.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

The Role
This newly created Staff Accountant position will play a key role in the RailUSA, LLC Finance & Accounting Department located in our Boca Raton, FL headquarters.  As an integral member of this dynamic office, the ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, high integrity, and be a strong team player.   To be successful, the candidate will be a strong collaborator and communicator, possessing outstanding analytical and presentation skills and a “can-do” positive attitude.   A willingness to travel a small amount is required to visit our railroad properties.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of accounts payable including customer vendor relations, all check disbursements and year end Form 1099 reporting.
  • Ensure proper supporting documentation for all invoices has been received and reconciled and any past due balances have been reviewed reconciled with the vendor.
  • Obtain proper authorization for payment of invoices and maintain such documentation.
  • Manage accounting functions including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
  • Review and reconcile all expense reports and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure timely payment of payables and follows up on open payables with respective managers.
  • Oversee decentralized accounts payable performance and ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Manage all month end closing of accruals of payables.
  • Reconcile general ledger and bank statement cash on a daily basis
  • Provide accounting assistance to projects regarding segregating costs to capital projects and insurance claims.
  • Meet necessary corporate finance deliverables and timelines
  • Maintain subsidiary schedules to support insurance claims; capital projects new deal costs

Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for several legal entities;

  • Enter all payables for several legal entities ensuring all are properly approved and have supporting documentation and any past due balances have been reviewed and reconciled with the vendor
  • Oversee processing of payables for all entities ensuring all have proper approvals and supporting documentation
  • Obtain approvals for all payments of payables for all entities
  • Supervise cash balances and reconcile any difference in timely manner
  • Process all deposits for headquarters entities; oversee deposits of railroad deposits
  • Review of all corporate expense reports including reconciling all supporting documentation and coding to correct entity/deal
  • Reconcile all intercompany accounts on monthly basis
  • Prepare all intercompany chargebacks and invoice appropriate entities including all supporting documentation
  • Complete all documentation related to opening of new bank accounts
  • Prepare wire transfer forms and upload to banks
  • Prepare 1099 for all entities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience with full-cycle accrual accounting utilizing a subledger/general ledger accounting system preferable
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Must be able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize to accomplish goals
  • Ability to identify and implement best practices, think strategically, plan for the long-term success of the organization and effectively delegate tasks
  • Have strong attention to detail, enjoy problem solving, take initiative and have a professional and service minded approach

Maintenance of Way

Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining fleet of locomotives to ensure the company’s ability to serve the customer and provide reliable equipment for employees. The position is responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of the engine, mechanical, and electrical components on the locomotive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Performs daily, periodic, and annual inspections of Locomotives in accordance with FRA regulations.

· Performs periodic service on locomotives that includes: changing oil, turbo inspection, changing the engine air and air compressor and greasing couplings, fittings, traction motor gears, electrical testing and repair and fuel linkage.

· Replaces locomotive and diesel engine components including wheels or trucks, traction motors, springs, couplers, draft gear assembly, gear cases and cylinder assemblies; heating equipment.

· Diagnoses malfunctions in diesel engines, air equipment, trucks or other components to determine nature of problem and needed repair or replacement.

· Performs daily service of locomotive units: sands, waters, lubricates and oils; wipes down and cleans unit and windows

· Maintain proper records (preventative maintenance sheets, invoices, shipping documents, expense reports)

· Handle environmental issues in appropriate manner (e.g. proper disposal of filter oil, diesel fuel or other materials)

· Comply with company safety policies and procedures; must wear required personal protective equipment.

· Conducts periodic safety assessments on equipment according to a frequency determined by the Company

· Suggests and/or implements administrative or engineering controls to abate or minimize safety hazards. Implementation will require appropriate approvals.

· Other duties as assigned.
